Dr Idah Peterside was born in the sixties in Port-Harcourt city, Rivers State, Nigeria. His pastor parents are from the Opobo Kingdom which is part of the historic Niger Delta. Idah Peter, as he is affectionately called, attended the Army Children School GRA in Port Harcourt in the mid-seventies. He later attended Umuhia, government college in the former Imo State. He also briefly attended the University of Uyo but left to pursue his passion in football. He excelled and played for a few notable Nigerian teams. He later acquired a Diploma at the Word of Faith Bible College. That same year he signed a professional contract to play nationally for Owerri. In 1998, he moved to Israel to play professional football for Macabbi Herziliear, after which he received an offer to play in South Africa. From 1998 to 2001, he played for the Tembisa Classic, a premier league team. He later moved to Moroka Swallows in Johannesburg. 

Dr Idah Peterside’s s sporting transcended the field of play. His oratical power and knowledge of football landed him a job with the Supersports a leading sports broadcasting stations in Africa. Alongside other colleagues, he created Soccer Africa which has become the longest running sports show in the world. The show has run for 16 years and Dr Peterside continues to be part of it. Dr Peterside was one of the representatives of Supersports at the 2018 Russia Football World cup. 

In the spiritual space, Dr. Peterside established Christ Ambassadors Church with headquarters in Kempton Park in 2002. In 2014, he established the ATV television station; a platform that is being used to showcase God’s power to the whole sub-Sahara and parts of Europe. Both him and his wife, Dr Iyenemi Peterside were honoured with doctorate degrees in 2014. Dr. Peterside was ordained a Bishop in October 2016. 

In 2017, Dr Peterside won Special recognition awards at the Nigerian Community Excellence Awards for his works in promoting good image of Nigeria in sports, christian ministry and community development and leadership
